12 Weeks Pregnant

So during the first 12 weeks, not a lot happened. It literally felt like time was DRAGGING on until the 8 week appointment when we were able to see our little JuneBug for the first time. –Side note here if you’re wondering how we came up with the nickname do some backward math from a due date of March 1 😉 —

Weeks 5-7 were tough only because I was really really tired but nothing I couldn’t handle. Basically instead of being wide awake and ready to take on the world at 9pm I was shutting down and passing out.

The 12 week appointment was really our confirmation that we felt we could make it, that we had a healthy enough baby to feel comfortable announcing it to the world. Well I guess that just means making it Facebook official! So that is what we did.

At 12 weeks:

  • I felt great
  • Had not experienced any nausea
  • Was working out regularly and still very hard
  • Allowing myself to get more sleep
  • Maintaining my normal diet
  • I did get sick with a cold and had to be put on an antibiotic, wasn’t thrilled about that AT ALL

Announcement Time! JuneBug’s ETA is 3-1-14

I’m PREGNANT! ……..In all actuality it didn’t go quite like that we only told a select group of people we were pregnant and waited to announce it to the world. We found out we were pregnant just 2 days upon returning from a trip to Las Vegas. That’s right, mom of the year award right here! Let’s go to Vegas and get shitfaced while pregnant. I didn’t know!!! I swear. I know, I know, I’m not the only mom out there who’s made THAT mistake.

My husband likes to highlight this fun little vacation by recalling the walk back from the MGM Grand pool where we had spent several hours in the sun drinking beer. I don’t remember the walk back but apparently the comments I made to people headed out to the pool were enough to really piss someone off and get my ass kicked. Thanks huni, I love you for taking care of me and not letting that happen (especially in such a delicate state ;).

Anyways, I peed on three sticks which all proved that I was indeed pregnant. The first people we told were my parents. After waiting on my 37 year old sister all these years they were starting to think neither one of us had it in us to actually produce a grandchild, but lo and behold they would be first time grandparents.
Below is a video of how that went down 🙂

Announcing the great news to my husband’s parents turned out to be a giant flop. While looking through my Vegas photos on my phone she came across my pee sticks…. hehe oops! You’re gonna be a grandma, again. After 7 grandkids they’re pros, what’s another one going to matter at this point right? It didn’t go exactly like we wanted it to but they were happy for us nonetheless.

Cheers, Here’s to 2014!

This blog has been a long time coming. For months and months I have contemplated re-visiting what first was considered an assignment for my class that I created in the summer of 2013. I lacked the time and the effort to actually dive into writing consistent posts.

However, I knew that come 2014 I would have a lot to say and likely no one who would want to listen but that’s alright with me! I’ve always loved to write and because I’m about one year into my MBA I knew that this online haven would be a great place to record my thoughts specifically on fitness and fashion. So now, I put my fingers to the keys.

Well a little bit about me, if you care 🙂

I am a mother to be (his arrival is set for March 1), I married to the most amazing person I could ever imagine being married to, my best friend. I have a full time job that I absolutely love, I have been a cheerleading coach for the past 5 years but this will be my last year coaching. On the side I am also a Team Beachbody coach, I work for free to help people lose weight, get in shape and generally just feel better about themselves. I am as real here as I am in person so if you contact me about your own health and fitness I will make my best effort to gain your trust and confidence. At the end of the day if I know I helped just one person whether it be from my words, inspirational or motivating posts, or in person I can sleep at night…..and dream of unicorns and butterflies.
